Job summary

Mantis Innovation seeks a strategic Director of Roofing & Building Envelope Design to lead and grow our national practice. You will oversee technical excellence, project delivery, and client satisfaction while driving profitability across C&I, MUSH, and other sectors.

The role requires extensive experience in roofing and envelope systems, staff leadership, and the ability to manage complex portfolios with a focus on quality and growth.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial roofing, roof consulting, building envelope consulting, design, architecture, engineering, or related disciplines.
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing technical consulting, design, engineering, or professional services teams.
• Experience leading multi-location teams and complex project portfolios.
• Strong expertise in: Commercial roofing systems, Building envelope and façade systems, Waterproofing systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Roofing & Building Envelope Design practice across all regions.
• Oversee preparation and review of roof replacement designs, repair specifications, bid documents, construction details, and building envelope assessments.
• Ensure consistency and quality across all design deliverables and guide technical approaches for complex projects.
• Promote adoption of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions.
• Develop staffing plans and organizational structures to support workload demands.
• Build a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients and strategic accounts and drive long-term relationships.
