Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. seeks a seasoned Director, Pipeline Safety & Asset Risk to lead safety strategy across multi-state operations.

This role partners with executives to strengthen regulatory compliance, manage asset risk, and guide investment decisions for safety and reliability. The hybrid position may be based in Little Rock, Fort Smith, or Fayetteville, Arkansas, and requires extensive cross-functional leadership in pipeline safety, integrity management, and audits to protect people,

Qualifications

• 12+ years in natural gas utility operations, pipeline safety, integrity management, asset risk, or regulatory compliance.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams or programs.
• Experience with federal/state pipeline safety regulatory agencies and audits/compliance reviews.
• Strong strategic, analytical, communication, and organizational leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise leadership for pipeline safety, integrity management, and asset-risk strategy.
• Oversee compliance programs (DIMP, TIMP, MAOP) and corrosion control.
• Advance Pipeline Safety Management System and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strengthen regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and relationships with PHMSA and state agencies.
• Establish governance, performance measures, and risk-informed investment decisions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide executive-level reporting and recommendations.
• Develop and lead teams responsible for pipeline safety, integrity governance, and compliance.
