The University of Florida seeks a visionary leader to serve as Director of the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning (SLA&P) and Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture. The twelve‑month appointment is eligible for tenure upon hire and is slated to begin July 1, 2027.

The role requires a distinguished record in teaching, research, or creative scholarship and strong administrative experience.

Qualifications

Terminal degree in landscape architecture or related field.
Distinguished record in teaching, research or creative scholarship with tenure at Associate Professor or Professor.
Administrative experience including budget, personnel and curriculum management.
Demonstrated ability to advance knowledge of landscape architecture and communicate value to government, industry, and academia.
Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and student success.
Commitment to faculty development, mentoring, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning (SLA&P) as Director and Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture.
Provide visionary leadership for education, research, service, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Engage in fundraising, partnerships, and donor relations to support programs.
Oversee budgets, personnel, and curriculum across undergraduate and graduate levels.
Advance student success and promote inclusive, collaborative scholarly work across disciplines.
