Otis Elevator Co. in Florence, SC is seeking a Category Manager for Direct Materials to lead strategic sourcing of commercial controllers and drives.

You will manage supplier performance and drive cost savings across NE/MOD contracts with North America field offices. The role requires a BS/BA in business, supply chain or engineering, 4–6 years' experience in electronics supply chain or elevator field, and hands-on experience with Global JDE and related systems.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business, supply chain, or engineering.
• 4–6 years in electronics supply chain or elevator field.
• Experience in SDC and MOD Elog.
• Vendor sourcing experience preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and elevator/escalator specs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category-specific sourcing strategies, ensuring 100% spend under management through centralization and purchasing pathway control, driving to meet annual savings target.
• Lead RFP/RFQ activities for both pre- and post-award NE/MOD contracts in partnership with all NAA field offices.
• Act as the primary supplier manager for all vendors within assigned commodity categories, ensuring strong performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and inventory management metrics.
• Escalate issues promptly during centralized sourcing activities to minimize operational impact.
• Oversee material procurement through delivery and installation, coordinating with third-party suppliers to ensure correct package configuration and efficient installation/integration.
• Collaborate with internal functions , and external suppliers to quickly resolve supply issues and maintain excellent customer service.
• Develop price proposals, financial analyses, and reports supporting price reasonableness, purchasing decisions, and sourcing strategies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance internal processes, productivity, and future FSC centralization goals.
