Bain & Company in the US is seeking a Strategic Designer to lead human-centered innovation—from research and insight development to concept creation, prototyping and experimentation.
You will co-lead ideation with case teams, build storytelling assets and prototypes, and translate findings into actionable strategies. Travel ~30% with in-person client work, based in New York or San Francisco.

You’ll join our Design & Research experts within the AI, Insights & Solutions team. This team is part of Bain’s digital capabilities practice, which includes experts in analytics, engineering, product management, and design. In this multidisciplinary environment, you'll leverage deep technical expertise with business acumen to help clients tackle their most transformative challenges. You’ll work on integrated teams alongside our general consultants and clients to develop data-driven strategies and innovative solutions. As a Strategic Designer, you’ll help lead human-centered innovation efforts—from research and insight development to concept creation, prototyping, and experimentation. You won’t just design solutions—you’ll bring a consulting mindset to navigate complex case contexts, contribute to strategy definition, and make pragmatic design choices that add value quickly.

This role requires a minimum of three days per week working together in person, either at a client location or at your Bain home office.
This position requires regional travel away from your home office/primary working location. Travel frequency and destinations will vary based on project needs.
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below).
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
In New York and California, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is $142,551.
Annual discretionary performance bonus.
This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation.
4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date.
