Job summary

UCAR in Boulder, CO is seeking a Deputy CFO to be the principal operational deputy to the Chief Financial Officer, coordinating and integrating the activities of the Office of the CFO under the CFO’s strategic direction.

The Deputy CFO will act as the CFO’s chief integrator across Finance & Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A, ensuring alignment of operations with organizational goals and timely communication with UCAR labs and programs. Strong leadership and governance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree/diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• MBA, or relevant work experience in place of degree.
• Minimum 10 years’ prior directly relevant experience, including 3 years’ prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure financial policies exist and are regularly updated with labs and programs support.
• Provide leadership to UCAR annual planning processes.
• Oversee the financial component of all monthly and annual reports from the CFO’s office.
• Maintain understanding of labs and programs’ needs and address them in partnership.
• Lead financial strategy and business transformation initiatives with the CFO.
