Job summary

Phillips Theological Seminary seeks a Dean of the Library and Research Services to provide strategic direction for the library, ensuring accessible resources and services that support teaching, learning, research, and the Phillips community.

The position leads policy, budget, staff development, and stakeholder collaboration across seminary leadership, faculty, and students, while representing the library in key committees and consortia.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• At least two years of post-MLIS/MLS leadership experience in an academic library.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies.
• Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop library policies aligned with institutional priorities and mission.
• Serve on Seminary Cabinet and Faculty Council; chair Library Committee.
• Lead staff development and performance coaching; oversee scheduling and absences.
• Coordinate with OSU Library Consortium and OCALD; liaise with departments seminary-wide.
• Oversee budgeting, gifts, collections, and library facilities and services.
