Job summary

Keystone is seeking a Strategic Data Scientist to design and deploy analytical models and machine learning systems that support expert testimony, litigation strategy, and regulatory advisory in AI, cybersecurity, and platform governance.

You will transform complex datasets into defensible insights that drive decisions in high-impact cases, collaborating with economists, technologists, and strategists to scale analytical pipelines across projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience analyzing large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data (JSON, CSV) to support strategic initiatives.
• Fluency in Python and SQL for data analysis.
• Domain expertise in AI/ML, Cybersecurity, Data Science, NLP, or Blockchain.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts across diverse audiences and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with an interdisciplinary team on litigation cases spanning AI, data analytics, digital risk, and regulatory compliance.
• Build analytical models, investigative workflows, and technology assessments.
• Build, test and deploy ML models, LLMs, and analytical pipelines that scale across projects.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools, libraries, and frameworks for analytical consistency.

About the Strategic Data Scientist Role

As a Strategic Data Scientist at Keystone, you will design and deploy analytical models, machine learning systems, and investigative workflows that support expert testimony, litigation strategy, and regulatory advisory in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, and platform governance. Working alongside economists, fellowtechnologistsand strategists,you’lltransform complex, often unstructured datasets (e.g., JSON, CSV, logs, scraped data) into defensible insights that drive decisions in high-impact cases involving antitrust, digital risk, and emerging technology regulation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with an interdisciplinary team on litigation cases spanning AI, data analytics, digital risk, emerging technology governance, and regulatory compliance
• Build analytical models, investigative workflows, and technology assessments
• Build, test and operationalize machine learning models, large language models (LLMs), and analytical pipelines that scale across projects
• Contribute to the development of internal tools, libraries, and frameworks that enhance analytical consistency and scalability

• Advanced graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience analyzing large volumes of qualitative and quantitively data (JSON, CSV) to support complex strategic initiatives
• Fluency in Python and SQL for data analysis
• Advanced knowledge of many core technologies and programming paradigms
• Specific domain expertise in a field such as AI/ML, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Distributed Computing, NLP, or Blockchain
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment
• Analytical skills with a keen understanding of financial and operational levers
• Ability to manage multiple complex work streams and work across organizational boundaries

In addition to annual salary, we provide an annual discretionary bonus, 401k contribution, and competitive benefits package. Actual Compensation within the range will depend upon the level the individual is hired into based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.

Annual Salary Range

$120,000 — $198,000 USD
