Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller in Atlanta to oversee financial reporting, ledgers, reconciliations, project cash flows, cost tracking, and development entity reporting for a growing commercial real estate portfolio.

The ideal candidate has a strong property accounting foundation, hands-on reconciliation experience, and the ability to collaborate with development and accounting leadership in a fast-paced CRE environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting.
• Experience with commercial real estate, property accounting, development accounting, or construction accounting.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
• Experience preparing property-level financial statements and handling tenant billing.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial and cost reports.
• Understanding of acquisition, disposition, and placed-in-service accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple properties, projects, and reporting deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with accounting and development professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, balance sheet account reconciliations, and related financial analysis.
• Oversee cash flow sources for construction and development projects.
• Reconcile bank accounts and subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Perform daily cost tracking, research, and analysis.
• Create daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports.
• Maintain development general ledgers and financial statements for individual properties.
• Prepare development entity financial reporting for monthly review with development and accounting managers.
• Record accounting journal entries related to acquisitions, dispositions, and assets placed in service.
• Research discrepancies and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of development accounting records.
