Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive product strategy across Core Banking, owning the most complex, cross‑functional initiatives and tying product strategy to the platform’s technical direction. This senior role requires autonomy and a deep understanding of posting logic and banking operations.

You will partner with Engineering, Product, Risk, Legal, and GTM teams to deliver measurable outcomes, influence senior stakeholders, and ensure alignment with US regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• Deep understanding of core banking systems and posting logic.
• Proven track record in building or managing a core banking product.
• Strong PM background across pricing, risk, compliance, product performance, legal, and GTM.
• Strong knowledge of US banking market and regulatory environment.
• 10+ years of professional experience in product management for complex, regulated tech platforms.
• Ability to drive strategy across multiple product areas with autonomy.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive product strategy and roadmap across Core Banking domains and end-to-end product.
• Lead complex cross-company initiatives including core conversion enablement and US market expansion.
• Align product strategy with organizational technical strategy; decide build vs. buy vs. partner.
• Execute GTM with measurable outcomes in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Ops, and client teams.
• Develop operating models and playbooks for the Core PM group.
• Embed regulatory posture and responsible AI principles into the Core product.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers on prioritization, sequencing, and dependency management.
• Set operating rhythms, remove cross-team hurdles, and improve velocity.
• Maintain coherent product direction as priorities shift.
• Interface with business, operations, compliance, risk, legal, and technology stakeholders.
• Influence senior decisions through prioritized trade-offs (timeline, risk, cost).
• Represent Core product with external banking clients and SoFi Bank partners.
• Apply posting-logic level understanding of core banking architecture.
• Challenge architectural assumptions to reduce complexity and maintenance burden.
• Ensure Core product meets US-chartered banking requirements.
