Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC in Norwell, MA is seeking a Controller to oversee corporate accounting and project finance. This newly created role reports directly to the CFO and partners with operations to strengthen financial infrastructure across multiple entities.

You will lead the month-end close, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, while supporting acquisitions and improving profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in construction or project-based industries.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, revenue recognition, WIP accounting, job costing, and project profitability analysis.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• CPA, public accounting experience, or multi-entity environment is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with executive leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and strengthen controls across multiple entities.
• Oversee project accounting functions including WIP reporting, revenue recognition, job costing, cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to monitor project performance, manage financial risks, and improve profitability.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
• Support acquisition due diligence, integration activities, and standardization of financial processes across newly acquired entities.
• Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, and development of scalable reporting and BI capabilities.
