Job summary

SolomonEdwardsGroup, LLC in Dalton, GA seeks a hands-on Controller to own daily accounting and financial reporting while strengthening controls for growth. The role requires independent execution with minimal oversight and experience across AP, AR, GL, and close processes.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, CPA preferred, and prior controller or senior accounting management experience. Travel is minimal; excellent communication with leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accounting Manager.
• Hands-on experience with AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, month-end close, and year-end close.
• Experience managing or supporting external audits.

Responsibilities

• Own AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, close, and financial reporting activities.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
• Manage year-end audit activities and ensure accurate, complete, and timely audit documentation.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, cash flow, and other financial information.
• Identify accounting risks, discrepancies, process gaps, and inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
• Strengthen accounting processes, controls, and infrastructure to support continued organizational growth.
• Validate and reconcile financial data across reporting systems in partnership with IT and internal stakeholders.
