Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee the core accounting function in Colorado, ensuring strong financial controls and close discipline. You will develop talent and build a scalable accounting organization while leading day-to-day operations and driving continuous process improvements.

You will own the monthly close, review journal entries and reconciliations, and provide clear guidance on complex items such as revenue recognition and capitalizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience leading accounting operations and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP implementations or upgrades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the core accounting function with strong controls and close discipline.
• Develop talent and help build a scalable accounting organization.
• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and drive process improvements.
• Own the monthly close process to ensure timely financial results.
• Review/approve journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews.
• Provide accounting guidance on complex items including revenue recognition.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and standard work.
• Identify control gaps, implement countermeasures to improve compliance.
• Support acquisitions through accounting due diligence and earnings inputs.
• Build integration playbooks for acquired entities within accounting cadence.
