Job summary

Extera Building Solutions is seeking a seasoned Safety Director to lead and advance occupational health and safety programs across all subsidiaries and construction operations. You will partner with executive leadership, project teams, and subcontractors to enforce standards, mentor staff, and drive risk reduction.

The role requires strong OSHA knowledge, a track record of improving safety performance, and the ability to travel regionally within the Great Lakes area as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field plus 5 years of safety management experience; or 15 years in construction safety with 5 years in leadership.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety program development.
• Proven ability to lead multi-site safety programs and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs across all entities and job sites.
• Ensure OSHA and federal/state/local/client safety requirements are met.
• Lead safety initiatives, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Provide leadership and coaching to safety staff, project teams, and subcontractors.
• Perform jobsite audits, inspections, and field observations to ensure compliance.
• Oversee OSHA recordkeeping, regulatory reporting, and safety metrics.
