Job summary

Indiana University is seeking a strategic leader for Capital Planning and Facilities in Indianapolis. You will contribute on senior leadership teams to formulate strategic planning and high-level operational objectives for construction and planning, establish long-term business plans, and direct leadership staff overseeing construction and planning teams.

The role drives innovation, reviews policies, manages the budget, and coordinates with executive leaders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
5 years of construction management experience.
3 years of management experience in a relevant field.
Valid driver's license.
Strong communication and professionalism.
Ability to read and interpret large-format schematics, blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

Contributes on senior leadership teams to formulate strategic planning and the highest-level operational objectives for construction and planning areas.
Establishes long-term business plans and long-term strategic objectives.
Directs leadership staff who provide supervision to construction and planning teams.
Responsible for escalated operational issues, including human resources and/or people management situations.
Drives innovation and excellence within the area of construction and planning; reviews and creates policies and procedures.
Determines overall budget for construction and planning teams; reviews and approves financial proposals from direct reporting leaders; has significant fiscal responsibilities that require frequent interaction with executive leaders.
Provides expertise and identifies grant and/or funding opportunities; develops business relationships across the university and externally.
Stays up-to-date on new construction and planning standards, procedures, and guidelines and works collaboratively with other construction and planning leaders across departments and/or campuses in determining standards, best practices, and related policies/procedures; ensures the adoption and implementation by direct reporting leaders.
