Job summary

FedWriters, Inc. seeks a Strategic Communications Specialist to support the Defense Cyber Crime Center by shaping internal and external messaging, events, and branding. You will plan communication strategies, produce news content, and support executive engagements to ensure a clear voice across channels.

The role is on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD, with travel to local DC-area events and CONUS trips. Active clearance and DoD policy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• 12+ years in strategic communications or 8+ years with a BA/BS, or 6+ years with an MA/MS/MBA.
• Experience in Intelligence, Cyberspace communications, or DoD policies/procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft communication strategies, talking points, and messaging products.
• Plan and execute special events, outreach, and brand campaigns.
• Develop news and informational content for internal and external audiences.
• Maintain communication standards across web, publications, presentations, and digital platforms.
• Coordinate with the Public Affairs Office on approvals and documentation.
• Support conferences and media events.

Join our team as a Strategic Communications Specialist and support the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) by shaping its internal and external messaging, events, and brand. Work Schedule and Location

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Linthicum Heights, MD. Travel: about 15–20 local DC‑area events and 3–5 CONUS trips per year supporting conferences and outreach; no overseas travel.
