UC Irvine School of Law is seeking a Communications and PR Manager to lead a comprehensive, integrated communications and public relations strategy across the law school website, social media, newsletters, marketing materials, and media outreach.

The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with strong writing, media relations, and project management abilities, able to translate complex legal topics for broad audiences and collaborate with faculty and administrators under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Understanding of legal education, legal scholarship, or professional education environments.
• Principles and best practices of strategic communications, public relations, and media relations.
• Higher education communications and marketing.
• News writing, feature writing, editorial standards, and AP Style.
• Digital communications, WordPress, Constant Contact and Canva.
• Brand management and institutional messaging.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities.
• Strong media relations and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to translate complex legal and academic topics into accessible content.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong presentation and verbal communication abilities.
• Analytical skills to evaluate communications using data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated communications and PR strategy for UC Irvine School of Law across all channels.
• Shape and promote the law school's brand identity through the website, social media, newsletters, marketing materials, and media outreach.
• Collaborate with faculty and administrators to advance institutional priorities and measure impact using data and metrics.
