Job summary

KASAP is seeking a Communications and Engagement Director to shape and implement strategic communications across Kentucky’s 13 sexual violence centers. You will develop core messaging, manage media engagement, and coordinate statewide campaigns, while ensuring branding consistency and accessibility in digital and printed content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public policy, journalism, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in public-facing communications and media engagement.
• Demonstrated commitment to ending sexual violence.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with multiple priorities.
• Experience with digital communications tools, CMS, email marketing, and analytics.
• Proficiency with technology platforms for communications functions.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel with valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop, assess, and review KASAP's comprehensive communications strategy and framework.
• Develop and implement annual communications plans with executive leadership.
• Serve as media spokesperson and coordinate inquiries.
• Provide rapid-response communications on current issues and priorities.
• Draft messaging, talking points, and public-facing documents for advocacy.
• Produce press releases, blog content, and multimedia communications.
• Train and support member programs in communications and outreach.
• Create branded materials and design for internal and external use.
• Coordinate statewide communications campaigns and toolkits.
