Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Commodity Trading & Value Chain Optimization Consultant in Chicago to drive performance improvements across trading and downstream value chains. You will identify opportunities in operations, supply chain, and risk, delivering measurable business value for clients.

You will analyze data, develop analyses and presentations, and collaborate with stakeholders to align workstreams and timelines while leveraging industry insights and advanced technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or Operations.
• 2+ years of experience in commodity trading, downstream operations, supply chain, performance improvement, or consulting.
• Experience supporting downstream oil and gas functions like refining, shipping, storage, marketing, or trading ops.
• Experience analyzing data to identify performance improvements.
• Experience creating analyses or financial models for stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel ~75% depending on client needs.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Identify process, data, and control improvement opportunities across trading and downstream operations.
• Support value chain optimization for trading orgs in oil & gas, power, utilities, agriculture, and adjacent sectors.
• Quantify value from analyses to support margin and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with clients and Deloitte teams to align workstreams, deliverables, and timelines.
• Develop analyses and materials to support engagement delivery and business development.
