Job summary

Lutron Electronics is seeking a self-motivated Commodity Manager - Electronic Components to join our procurement team at the Coopersburg, PA headquarters. You will develop strategic commodity plans, manage supplier relationships, collaborate with engineering, and drive cost reductions while traveling ~20%.

You will serve as a key communications link between internal customers and vendors to ensure supplier capabilities meet our needs and service levels, delivering on-time high quality customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field.
• 8+ years of industry experience in electronic components; at least 3 years in commodity management.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a strategic commodity plan to enhance flexibility and profitability.
• Supplier Management: Build a world class supply chain, improve delivery rates, and reduce risk via supplier strategies.
• Supplier Management: Select, manage and develop key electronic device suppliers.
• Engineering Collaboration: Align commodity strategy with product development needs.
• Cost and Capacity Strategies: Implement cost reduction and capacity strategies via value analysis and inventory management.
• Global Supplier Culture: Propagate Lutron's supplier culture globally.
• Executive Relationships: Develop and maintain executive-level supplier relationships.
• Benchmarking: Continuously benchmark suppliers for best-in-class management.
• Problem Solving: Address supply chain issues like logistics and material availability.
• Performance Monitoring: Ensure suppliers meet service level expectations.
• New Product Support: Assist new product teams with supplier relationships and tech alignment.
• Forecasting: Collaborate with business teams to forecast components and align with vendor supply.
