Job summary

Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving, Texas is seeking two Co-Directors of College Counseling to guide 9th–12th graders and their families through the college admissions journey, aligning with the school’s formation program and strong relationships with colleges.

Reporting to the Headmaster, they will design grade-appropriate programming, prepare recommendations, coordinate testing support, and travel to visit colleges and attend conferences to advance students’ opportunities.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the college admission process
• Strong writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
• Relational skills and knowledge of high school student development
• Ability to balance big-picture mission with attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of financial aid processes
• Willingness to travel to visit colleges and attend conferences

Responsibilities

• Guide students and families through the college admissions journey
• Prepare counselor recommendations for 20–25 seniors; submit college documents
• Provide feedback on applications, essays, and summer program applications
• Assist with college interviews as needed
• Host informational events for students and parents
• Maintain open communication with students and parents
• Share scholarship, academic, and internship opportunities
