Hot Topic HQ in City of Industry, California is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will report to the CEO and steer the company’s financial strategy. You will lead accounting, finance, forecasting, legal, real estate, purchasing, investor relations, and financing activities, guiding profitable growth and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of senior financial leadership, a background in specialty retail or ecommerce, MBA and/or CPA, and a proven ability to build strong

Qualifications

• 15+ years in senior financial leadership, preferably in specialty retail or ecommerce.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Integrity, urgency and results-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to participate in strategic alliances, acquisitions and financing.
• Experience managing multi-unit operations and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in development and implementation of short and long-term strategic objectives and profitability.
• Develop strategies to enhance the company’s value by improving sales and productivity.
• Work with senior leadership on growth plans including international expansion and licensing.
• Establish finance operational strategies and implement change across the organization.
• Ensure timely and accurate budgets, results and forecasts with variance analysis.
• Oversee treasury, banking relationships and cash projections.
• Monitor financial performance and initiate corrective actions.
• Advise on long-range planning, programs and regulatory actions.
• Build strong relationships with executives and provide financial guidance on business activities.
• Lead annual budgeting process and educate department managers on financial issues.
• Serve as advisor on contracts from a financial perspective.
• Provide strategic input on mergers, acquisitions and investments.
• Develop and manage external auditors and ensure regulatory compliance.
