Job summary

Schnitzer Properties is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic partner to the President, guiding financial strategy and operations for sustained growth in a multi‑state real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities include leading Accounting, Finance, IT, and Tax, overseeing budgeting and planning, managing a high‑performing team, and translating financial insights into business decisions. CPA/MBA and real estate investment experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in accounting, finance, and organizational management.
• Experience overseeing a 20+ person team with annual revenue of $1B+.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related discipline.
• CPA & MBA or other advanced business degree strongly preferred.
• Real estate investment experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Accounting, Finance, IT, and Tax functions, building on a strong foundation while identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen reporting and support informed decision‑making.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, cash management, and corporate reporting.
• Manage a high‑performing team, mentor staff, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Translate financial insights into business strategy, partner with leaders across the company, evaluate opportunities, navigate risk, and drive sustainable growth.
• Serve as trusted advisor to the President, providing thoughtful guidance that moves the business forward.
