Job summary

COMPANY NAME: Unknown is recruiting a Category Manager-Supply Chain for a Fortune 100 Oil and Gas client in Houston, TX. The role focuses on procurement strategy and supplier performance across multiple businesses.

The contract is 6 months with a high likelihood of extension or conversion to full-time. Expect a 9/80 schedule (40 hours/week) and a strong emphasis on data-driven supplier optimization and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role.
• Strong commercial and analytical background essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track supplier performance, savings, budgets, category initiatives, and execution progress.
• Coordinate supplier engagement activities, including executive sponsor meetings and strategic supplier reviews.
• Support relationship building between suppliers, category teams, asset SCM teams, and business stakeholders to foster collaboration and improve outcomes.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of Competitive Performance initiatives and other value delivery opportunities.
• Identify and remove execution barriers to deliver results faster.
• Support cross-functional projects and initiatives that improve category performance.
• Drive standardization of tools, templates, reporting, and best practices across Wells Category Teams.
• Lead relationship health assessments and improve service levels and ways of working.
• Maintain and improve team digital platforms, repositories, and audit-ready records.
• Champion AI and digital tools to automate work and boost productivity.
• Share lessons learned and best practices across the Wells organization.
