Vulcan Elements is seeking a Buyer to support our American manufacturing operations. You will manage the procure-to-pay lifecycle for direct materials, components, and production supplies, partnering with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Logistics to keep production ramp on track.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in purchasing in a manufacturing setting, strong Excel skills, and the ability to translate production needs into clear purchasing actions while upholding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Experience purchasing direct materials and production-related goods plus strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchasing for direct materials and production supplies according to production plans.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring pricing, quantities, and terms.
• Track open POs and supplier commitments to meet production needs.
• Identify late deliveries and supply disruptions; elevate risks early.
• Lead RFQs/RFPs, solicit supplier proposals, and compare bids.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms within strategy.
• Coordinate with Planning to translate MRP demand into purchasing actions.
• Ensure materials meet drawings, specs, and quality requirements.
• Resolve shipping, receiving, customs, and delivery issues with logistics.
• Support supplier onboarding and maintain approved supplier data.
• Maintain procurement records and sourcing documentation.
