Job summary

Eaton Corporation's Aerospace Group is seeking a Strategic Buyer - Networks to join our North Charleston, SC operations Fulfilment team. This role focuses on sourcing parts and services with complex, non-standard requirements, including ITAR programs, and coordinating with IT and Engineering colleagues.

You will drive obsolescence management, supplier transitions, and capacity commitments, while collaborating with aftermarket quoting teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, operations or a combination of those functions.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now and within the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. US person status required for eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Procure parts and services with complex or custom requirements, including non-standard, non-repeat buying.
  • Drive obsolescence management (deactivation/reactivation) to meet customer demands.
  • Collaborate in Aftermarket quoting with commercial teams.
  • Manage producibility decisions for the plant (dormant parts / none / supplier unknown).
  • Oversee in-site transitions (supplier movement, gate processes, ramp up/down) based on risk.
  • Handle technical procurement activities for ITAR and undisclosed programs.
  • Receive, validate and communicate engineering specs with support of ITAR & undisclosed programs.
  • Engage suppliers in tender preparation and determine delivery responsibilities.
  • Manage material forecast collaboration and obtain capacity commits from suppliers.

Eaton's Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Strategic Buyer - Networks to join our Operations Fulfilment team. This position is based at our North Charleston, SC location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:

  • Procure parts and services with complex or custom requirements, with a focus on non-standard, non-repeat buying, including stranger / alien programs
  • Drive the part deactivation and reactivation processes to include obsolescence as required to meet customer demands
  • Collaborate in Aftermarket quoting process with commercial teams
  • Accountable for managing the producibility decision process for the plant (dormant parts / "none" process / supplier unknown)
  • Manage in-site transitions (supplier movement / gate processes / ramp up / ramp down) based on risk matrix
  • Manage all technical procurement activities associated with ITAR & Other undisclosed programs.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 year of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, operations or a combination of those functions
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or supply chain from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years’ experience with SAP MRP/ERP system preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
