Job summary

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for the Associate Director of Business Development - NCERC (CS27-054) near Edwardsville, IL. This role directs center operations and strategic initiatives to grow research, testing, and industry partnerships.

You will oversee budgeting, financial health, and governance while serving as a primary liaison with industry partners and university stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree.
• Three years (36 months) of education/training/work in the area of specialization; Masters may substitute for one year.
• Three years of work experience in budgeting/forecasting/revenue monitoring/process improvements/strategy.
• Five+ years in the manufacturing/processing industry.

Responsibilities

• Executive Director's chief operating partner and delegated authority for Center operations.
• Establishes priorities, allocates resources, directs staff, approves actions, and implements process improvements.
• Oversees budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, invoicing, and revenue monitoring.
• Develops strategic initiatives to expand research, testing, and partnerships.
• Develops operational procedures, performance standards, and governance practices.
• Ensures compliance with policies and sponsor expectations; identifies external collaboration opportunities.
• Directs portfolio of research, testing, and industry-sponsored projects from start to finish.
• Liaises with industry partners, faculty researchers, sponsors, vendors, and university stakeholders.
• Back up to the Executive Director during absence.
• Develops dashboards to monitor performance, workload, revenue, and resource use.
