USfalcon has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Bomber, SME to support USSTRATCOM at Offutt AFB, NE.

The Strategic Bomber SME provides authoritative expertise on strategic bomber platforms and operations, applying deep knowledge to assess deterrence effectiveness and inform senior leadership decisions at the Combatant Command level.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of practical bomber experience (B-1/B-2/B-52/B-21) as a commissioned officer.
  • 3+ years at senior DoD staff levels (OSD, Joint Staff, CCMD, MAJCOM).
  • Air Operations Center (AOC) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct graduate-level quality analysis of Global Strike and Nuclear Operations relevant to bomber forces.
  • Develop MOEs and MOPs for campaign and risk assessments.
  • Lead senior operations assessment efforts within USSTRATCOM planning contexts.
  • Analyze diplomatic, informational, military, and economic data to assess deterrence progress.
  • Maintain operational assessments and risk assessments for bomber force employment.
  • Produce CCMD-quality estimates and briefings for senior leaders.
  • Coordinate with interagency partners on bomber employment and deterrence matters.
  • Stay current on National Security Strategy and related doctrine.

USfalcon has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Bomber, SME to support USSTRATCOM at Offutt AFB, NE.

JOBSUMMARY

The Strategic Bomber SME provides authoritativeexpertiseon strategic bomber platforms and operations in direct support of USSTRATCOM's campaign and risk assessment mission. The selected candidate will serve as the resident technical expert on B-1, B-2, B-52, and/or B-21 operations, applying deep operational knowledge to assess strategic deterrence effectiveness and inform senior leadership decision-making at the Combatant Commandlevel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Conduct graduate-level quality analysis and assessment of USSTRATCOM core mission areas, with a specific focus on Global Strike and Nuclear Operations as they pertain to strategic bomber forces.
  • Apply operationalexpertisein strategic bomber platforms (B-1, B-2, B-52, and/or B-21) to develop and refine measurement criteria, including Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Measures of Performance (MOPs), for campaign and risk assessments.
  • Perform at the senior operations assessment Subject Matter Expert level by activelyparticipatingin USSTRATCOM,component, CCMD, and Joint Staff operations planning teams for Global Campaign Planconsolidatedstrategic opportunities and campaign plan/order operations, activities, and investments.
  • Independently analyze diplomatic, informational, military, and economic information to assess progression or regression toward achievement of Strategic Deterrenceobjectives, effects, and risk through defined measurement criteria.
  • Develop, update, andmaintainoperations assessments and campaign-level risk assessmentsdirectly relatedto bomber force employment, generation procedures, and weapons system capabilities.
  • Produce CCMD-quality commander's estimates and perform mission analysis in support of contingency and steady-state operations planning teams.
  • Demonstrate and articulate superior knowledge to create strategy-to-task frameworks linking broad nationalobjectivesto specific, actionable bomber force tasks, generating a hierarchical audit trail from nationalobjectivesto operational activities.
  • Produce graduate-level quality briefings and written reports with in-depth analysis following best practices for analytic writing; brief assessment findings to senior leaders and respond to questions.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, interagency, international, and other government agency partners on matters related to strategic bomber employment and deterrence.
  • Maintain working knowledge of policy and strategy guidance including the National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy, Nuclear Posture Review, National Military Strategy, Unified Command Plan, and relevant Global Campaign Plans and Operations Plans.
  • Support the identification of estimated, intended, and/or resultant cost/benefit of U.S. operations, activities, and investments relating to strategic air forces toward shaping the strategic environment.
  • Provide recommendations to improve force integration, resource allocation, and strategic alignment for bomber forces within the broader nuclear deterrence enterprise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 15 years of practical B-1, B-2, B-52, and/or B-21 experience as a commissioned officer.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working at the Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, Combatant Command, service, MAJCOM, or equivalent.
  • Air Operations Center (AOC) experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Direct experience supporting USSTRATCOM exercises, assessments, or operations planning.
  • Familiarity with the Joint Risk Assessment Methodology (JRAM) and deterrence theory.
  • Experience with Combatant Command-level campaign plan development or Global Campaign Plan assessments.
  • Prior contractor or government civilian experience in a defense advisory capacity.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
  • Master ’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase 2 graduate.
  • Senior Service School graduate (e.g., Air War College, Naval War College, Army War College, or equivalent).
  • Weapons School graduate (e.g., USAF Weapons School or equivalent).
