Job summary

American National Insurance Company is offering a strategic analyst intern program in Finance with a focus on corporate development and financial analysis. You will work 37.5 hours per week, onsite in Downtown Houston or Des Moines, Iowa, with relocation assistance possibly available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing studies in finance, accounting, business, insurance, or economics.
• Prior exposure to investment banking, private equity, credit, or asset management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams and leadership across American National Group and Brookfield Wealth Solutions to support value-creation initiatives.
• Prepare presentations and analyses to support senior leadership decision‑making and external communications.
• Develop financial and insurance capital models (valuation, credit analysis, insurance capital impacts).
• Conduct research and provide strategic advisory on strategy, products, end‑markets, and transaction opportunities.
• Complete project tasks with guidance from mentor and department leader.

Our Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with meaningful, real-world corporate experience while helping build a strong, long-term talent pipeline for American National Group. The program blends hands-on, role-related project work with intentional learning, leadership exposure, business education, and relationship-building opportunities.In addition to contributing to their respective departments, interns will participate in professional development experiences, connect with leaders through conversational sessions, gain broader business perspective through cross-company spotlight sessions, and have the opportunity to volunteer within the community.

Our 2027 summer internship program begins on Monday, May 24 and ends on Friday, August 6. An optional extension to August 13 is available. Intern positions are paid hourly with a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, for the entirety of the program.

Internship Program Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited institution
• Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship; May 2027 graduates are welcome
• Must possess a minimum 3.5 GPA
• Must be able to commit 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday
• Must be able to work onsite in one of the posted locations of the role

You will also receive mentorship from experienced investment, finance, and senior leaders across ANICO, AEL, and Brookfield, with meaningful opportunities to apply your skills, strengthen your business acumen, and make an impact.
