Job summary

Applied Composites in San Diego is seeking a diligent Buyer to handle procurement of goods and services. The role focuses on pricing, negotiation of terms, and delivering high-quality suppliers and materials on time.

The position requires experience in bid processes, supplier relationship management, and strong communication skills to support aerospace, defense, and space markets. Excellent problem-solving and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience acquiring materials for manufacturing and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Ability to write specifications, prepare bid documents, handle bidding processes and analyze results.
• Strong track record negotiating license contracts.
• Solves complex problems using multiple information sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to drive tasks to completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for goods, services, and supplies.
• Ensures on-time delivery and negotiates for best value with suppliers.
• Initiates bid/quote process; prepares bid documents and oversees the bid process.
• Resolves issues arising from purchases of services, supplies, and equipment.
• Evaluates quotes, selects suppliers, and maintains PO data in the system.
• Manages specialized commodities and monitors supplier capacity and capabilities.
• Assesses market drivers to determine pricing and reduce supply risk.
• Develops sources of supply and maintains vendor relationships.
• Keeps purchase order data accurate in the system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
