Job summary

Sysco is seeking a finance professional to assist the controller in securing financial operations and directing the accounting department. You will help develop fiscal strategies aligned with company goals and oversee close processes across multiple books.

The role requires leadership of AP/AR/Accounting teams, preparation of periodic financial reports, and active participation in budgeting and forecasting efforts. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial software are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
• 5 years of accounts payable experience required, with 1+ year leading others preferred.
• Strong analytical ability and data-driven decision making; excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs work of Accounts Payable Associates, Accounts Receivable Associates, Accounting Associates.
• Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
• Prepare Sysco weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Enter monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Manage business license application renewals as necessary.
• Oversee the close of multiple sets of books and records.
• Ensure timely and accurate account reconciliations per Sysco requirements.
• Maintain and perform timely the underlying transactional processes in BPMS.
• Support the weekly reporting process.
• Support the forecast process.
• Assist with annual Sysco budgets.
• Make recommendations to management to improve profitability.
• Identify opportunities to control costs and reduce expenses.
• Prepare and file local tax returns.
• Participate in shrink committee.
