Job summary

K. Hovnanian Companies, LLC is seeking an Accountant to join our accounting team in Matawan, NJ. You will support monthly close, manage accounts payable, reconcile intercompany accounts, and oversee inventory and landed cost calculations.

The right candidate has 3–4 years of financial operations experience, proficiency with JDE or Ebix, and strong problem solving and communication skills. Limited travel to NYC may be required; the role offers an hourly rate and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-4 years of experience in financial operations, accounting, or a similar role.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as JDE and Ebix.
• Strong understanding of month-end closing, accounts payable, and inventory management.
• Travel – Occasional travel to NYC Office.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Reporting: Prepare, review, and finalize monthly financial reports; perform journal entries and close activities.
• Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable: Process invoices, vendor payments, and resolve AP discrepancies.
• Vendor Management: Set up and maintain vendor profiles; ensure policy compliance.
• Insurance Compliance: Monitor vendor insurance coverage and renewal schedules.
• Inventory Reporting: Generate inventory reports, investigate variances, support orders.
• Landed Cost Calculation: Calculate landed costs for imported goods.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations for intercompany and other balance sheet accounts.
