About Pact

Pact is a GOTS-certified organic cotton, Fair Trade USA, and carbon-neutral apparel brand headquartered in Boulder, CO. We believe looking good and doing right by people and the planet are not mutually exclusive — and we back that up with the certifications to prove it. Our wholesale business spans national natural and specialty retailers, club, and department store channels. We are growing fast and looking for a commercially sharp, relationship-driven account manager to help us scale our most strategic partnerships.

The Role

The Strategic Account Manager owns day-to-day execution and long-range growth across a defined portfolio of key wholesale accounts. This role sits at the intersection of sales, operations, and merchandising — you are the internal champion for your accounts and the external face of Pact to your buyers. You will manage everything from seasonal buy planning and planogram strategy to EDI operations, promotional calendars, and sell-through performance, while identifying white space to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Sales
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of strategic wholesale accounts across natural, specialty, department store, and/or club channels.
  • Own seasonal sell-in: build compelling assortment proposals aligned to account POG strategy, buyer priorities, and Pact brand direction.
  • Develop and present seasonal line reviews, hindsight analyses, and forward-looking growth plans.
  • Negotiate trading terms, promotional investments, and floor set timing to maximize mutual profitability.
  • Identify and pursue door expansion, adjacency, and new category opportunities within existing accounts.
Retail Operations & Execution
  • Manage all operational touchpoints: PO confirmation, routing compliance, EDI order management, invoice resolution, and chargeback dispute.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery against buyer windows and avoid compliance penalties.
  • Build and maintain planogram forecast files and scan guides in alignment with account POG cycles.
  • Track and report on sell-through, weeks of supply, and in-stock performance; recommend replenishment or promotional actions as needed.
  • Support new item setup processes including UPC/VIN submissions, cost/retail verification, and vendor portals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with demand planning, production, and finance to align forecasts and manage inventory against confirmed POs.
  • Collaborate with marketing on promotional strategy, packaging development, and co-op execution.
  • Work with the VP of Sales on channel strategy, account tiering, and go-to-market planning.
  • Brief internal stakeholders on account performance, competitive landscape, and retailer feedback.
Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of wholesale account management experience in apparel, accessories, or consumer goods.
  • Proven track record managing major national accounts (natural grocery, department store, club, or specialty retail).
  • Deep familiarity with retail vendor operations: EDI, routing guides, chargebacks, planograms, and scan-based promotions.
  • Strong financial acumen — comfortable building and analyzing cost/retail/margin models, sell-through data, and promotional ROI.
  • Excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior buyer relationships.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for account reporting, forecasting, and assortment planning.
  • Willingness to travel 2-3x/quarter for regional trade shows, buyer meetings, and store visits
Preferred
  • Experience with directly selling to Whole Foods Market, Amazon, Target, REI, Nordstrom, or comparable national retailers.
  • Background in sustainable, natural, or mission-driven consumer brands.
  • Familiarity with ERP and order management systems (NetSuite experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of apparel product development cycles and retail buy calendars.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Target base salary: $85,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Annual performance bonus target tied to account growth and sell-through goals.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage plus 401K matching program.
  • Generous employee product discount.
  • Flexible hybrid work environment based out of Boulder, CO.
  • Opportunity to grow within a purpose-driven, high-growth brand.
