Job summary

Grove Gallery & Interiors in Columbus, OH is seeking a dependable Driver to deliver products to clients, inspect the vehicle, load and unload cargo, and perform all duties safely in line with DOT guidelines. You will provide accurate, courteous service and maintain vehicle and equipment in good order.

Shifts include early mornings and weekends. You’ll coordinate with the warehouse, document deliveries with photos, and uphold safety regulations while representing Grove Gallery & Interiors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 2–5 years driving experience in a distribution environment.
  • DOT certification required.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail for handling large numbers of deliveries.
  • Knowledge of GPS navigation technology and delivery routes.

Job description

The Driver is responsible for delivering products to clients; inspect general condition of vehicle; prepare, load, unload, operate, and clean vehicle including following all safety precautions in accordance with SGWS and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE


  • Drive established route to deliver products to assigned locations.

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle prior to commencing route.

  • Perform white glove deliveries, including assembly, unboxing, debris removal, pre-delivery site inspection with pictures/video and team lift.

  • Always adhere to safe and courteous operation of delivery vehicle.

  • Report to work in adherence to company uniform standards (e.g., neat, clean, and properly attired).

  • Adhere to all Safety regulations and perform all duties in a safe manner.

  • Plan trip logistics and obtain necessary documents to transport goods.

  • Load and unload cargo to ensure safety equipment is being utilized.

  • Ensure cargo is secured properly compliant with safety requirements.

  • Communicate changes to delivery schedules, delays, arrivals and/or equipment problems as encountered.

  • Follow/adhere to all traffic laws.

  • Maintain vehicle, product, and equipment tidy and in good working order.

  • Work flexible hours which include early morning (i.e., 4:00a.m. - 6:00a.m. start times), evenings and/or Saturdays; Overtime will be required at times.

  • Participate in Driver's On-Call schedule, requiring driver to be available after hours and weekends as scheduled.

  • Assist with warehouse duties as requested.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Comply with SEKO's C-TPAT Security Profile.

  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace. Comply with instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures. Cooperate with management in its fulfilment of its legislative obligations.

  • Assist with End Of Day security, including verification that all dock doors and manual doors are locked and secured. Set alarm if last to leave.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills to process large numbers of deliveries.

  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships.

  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills.

  • Knowledge with GPS navigation technology.

  • Knowledge of delivery area and alternate routes.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum:


  • High school diploma/GED and 2-5 years driving experience in a distribution environment.

  • Must be Department of Transportation (DOT) certified.

  • Experience with route delivery/driving.
