Kroger Family of Companies in Rosemont, IL seeks a Grocery Department Manager to lead a team and deliver outstanding customer service while meeting department goals.

You will interview, train, evaluate performance, and coach associates, oversee scheduling, budgeting, and adherence to food safety standards to ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize work activities to use time efficiently.
• Communicate department and job-specific information to associates, including updates from meetings/huddles.
• Orient new associates to the department and explain Kroger benefits.
• Adhere to laws, guidelines, and company policies.
• Oversee efficient operations of all Grocery Department functions and activities.
• Identify and resolve problems promptly by analyzing information and developing alternatives.
• Motivate self and others to achieve goals and commitments.
• Communicate changes effectively to build commitment and reduce resistance.
• Support Kroger's customer and associate promises and the Customer 1st team.
• Delegate tasks with clear direction and monitor progress.
• Be punctual for work and meetings and cover responsibilities when absent.
• Execute action plans and daily priorities including performance goals and best practices.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and stock standards.
• Stay current with ads and promotions to educate associates.
• Manage scheduling to ensure adequate department coverage for customer demand.
• Provide actionable feedback for growth of teams and individuals.
• Ensure work aligns with store initiatives and budget considerations.
• Monitor supply expenses and assist in budget and P&L reviews.
• Take appropriate action on financial reports and develop department business plans.

• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines

• Oversee/manage the efficient operations of all functions and activities of the Grocery Department

• Prioritizing and planning work activities by using time efficiently

• Identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully and developing alternate solutions

• Motivating self/others to achieve goals

• Providing appropriate, actionable feedback to help teams and individuals grow

• Helping associate identify how their work aligns with key store initiatives

• Monitoring/controlling supply expenses for the department to allow associates and customers to have all resources necessary

• Assisting store management in preparing the department budget and conducting profit and loss reviews

• Taking appropriate action on all financial reports

• Developing/implementing a department business plan to achieve desired results.
