Job summary

Collabera is seeking a talented Storyboard Artist to support an creative technology initiative blending traditional storytelling with emerging AI-powered workflows in Universal City, CA. This hybrid/remote role focuses on crafting storyboards, animatics, and sequences for animation projects while exploring AI-assisted processes.

Qualifications

• Professional experience as a Storyboard Artist, Story Artist, Story Revisionist, Storyboard Supervisor, or similar role.
• Professional animation production experience across TV, feature, streaming, or comparable productions.
• Strong understanding of Cinematic storytelling, Staging and composition, Character performance, Continuity, Shot sequencing and timing.
• Experience working from scripts, dialogue, audio, references, and production assets.
• Strong proficiency with Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and Adobe Photoshop.
• Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and communicate creative and technical needs clearly.
• Curiosity about emerging creative technology and willingness to experiment with evolving tools.

Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate storyboards, sequences, and timed animatics for animation projects.
• Evaluate AI-assisted animation and storytelling workflows alongside traditional creative processes.
• Document storyboard workflows, bottlenecks, revision cycles, and opportunities to improve artist productivity.
• Test emerging generative AI and creative tools and provide hands-on feedback.
• Evaluate tools based on creative quality, efficiency, artist control, usability, and workflow impact.
• Collaborate with creative, product, and technical teams to translate artist needs into workflow and product requirements.
• Help prototype and shape future AI-powered storyboarding workflows.
• Provide feedback on how AI can support professional artists while maintaining creative control and quality.

Storyboard Artist - Animation & Emerging AI Workflows

We’re looking for a talented Storyboard Artist / Story Artist to support an exciting creative technology initiative exploring the intersection of animation, professional storyboarding, and emerging AI-powered creative workflows.

This is an opportunity for a strong visual storyteller who is curious about new technology and excited to help explore how AI can enhance the creative process.

What You’ll Do

• Create and evaluate storyboards, sequences, and timed animatics for animation projects.
• Evaluate AI-assisted animation and storytelling workflows alongside traditional creative processes.

What We’re Looking For

Experience with generative AI, AI-assisted creative workflows, image/video generation, or emerging animation technology is a strong plus.

Experience with tools such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Runway, ComfyUI, Adobe Firefly, or similar technologies is highly relevant.

You do not need to be an AI engineer. We’re looking for someone who understands professional creative workflows and is excited to explore how emerging technology can improve the artist experience.
