Job summary

Public Opinion Productions in New York City is seeking an experienced Videographer/Editor to join a fast-paced, documentary-focused team. You will shoot and edit episodes for Track Star and other original series, balancing fieldwork with post-production in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of professional experience, strong storytelling, and proficiency in Adobe Premiere (After Effects and Photoshop a plus).

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience filming and editing documentary, journalistic, unscripted, or other non-fiction content.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to identify and capture compelling moments in the field.
• Proficiency with professional camera equipment, production audio, and basic lighting setups.

Responsibilities

• Film and edit videos for Track Star, Public Opinion, and other related projects.
• Capture high-quality interviews, verité footage, events, and other non-fiction content in the field.
• Collaborate with producers and other members of the creative team to develop stories from production through final delivery.
• Make creative decisions in the field around framing, coverage, lighting, audio, and storytelling.
• Edit footage into polished, engaging finished videos that align with the creative direction of each series.
• Organize and manage footage, project files, timelines, and media assets.
• Maintain a high quality of content while working efficiently and meeting deadlines.
• Adapt quickly to changing production environments and work independently when needed.
