Job summary

Spectrum Environmental Services, Inc. seeks a field inspector to perform construction stormwater inspections in Central Tennessee and North Alabama, with travel to coastal Mississippi and Florida as required.

The role requires a clean driving record and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions. You will identify BMPs, document site conditions, input data from field devices, and communicate needs verbally and in writing.

Essential Duties And Qualifications

• Must be able to perform construction stormwater inspections in the Central Tennessee and North Alabama regional areas.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Experience in stormwater inspection services, erosion control installation and maintenance, construction or environmental science is preferred.
• Self-directed and able to identify properly installed BMPs and communicate verbally and in written form areas where BMP maintenance and/or modification is needed.
• Ability to demonstrate strong technical understanding of general site development and construction methodologies coupled with the desire and ability to work outside.
• Detail oriented with inspections noting site conditions/issues.
• Use of proper PPE and safety equipment.
• Capable of completing inspection within permit and/or client directed time constraints.
• Ability to input inspections from a phone or tablet while on site.
• Additional tasks and duties as assigned.

Position to require availability to work weekends at least twice a month if a rain event were to occur. Territory for weekend work includes coastal Mississippi (Biloxi to Diamondhead), Hattiesburg area and Panhandle of Florida (Pensacola to Panama City). Only one territory to be assigned per weekend.

Environment-

Work is performed primarily in an outdoor field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain.

Conditions –

Any offer of employment is subject to the results of a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and review of Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and background check.
