Job description

Stormwater Project Manager

Freese and Nichols is looking for a Stormwater Project Manager in Denton, Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Lead floodplain studies, stormwater management plans, watershed master plans, and design of capital improvement projects.
  • Serve as technical lead using industry tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, GIS, and CAD.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and financial performance.
  • Provide quality control reviews of technical analyses, reports, and design deliverables.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage project scopes, schedules, and fee estimates.
  • Lead technical content for proposals and statements of qualifications.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise work of engineers, technicians, and other project team members.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff engineers while supporting long‑term team capability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
  • 6+ years of experience in stormwater management and drainage design.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients.
  • Preferred 8+ years of experience in stormwater management.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM).
  • Experience leading client‑facing stormwater and flood risk reduction programs.
  • Background supporting proposal development and business growth efforts.
