Job summary

The City of Hopewell seeks a Stormwater Management Coordinator to support MS4, ESC, SWM, and related plans. The role provides regulatory guidance to contractors, conducts site inspections, enforces stormwater rules, and maintains records for MS4 compliance.

You will coordinate required reports, assist in public outreach, prepare educational presentations, review program policies, and process land-disturbance permits to protect water quality.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating MS4/ESC/SWM programs.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control and stormwater laws.
• Strong communication and public outreach skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and implementing MS4, ESC, SWM programs.
• Provide regulatory guidance to contractors.
• Respond to erosion and sediment issues and assist in corrective actions.
• Perform site inspections to ensure compliance.
• Enforce regulations and ordinances.
• Develop and maintain records for MS4 compliance.
• Coordinate and complete required MS4 and TMDL reports.
• Provide MS4 educational material for social media, website, newsletters.
• Present educational content at meetings.
• Review and revise MS4 policies and guidance.
• Answer inquiries about land disturbances and stormwater.
• Provide technical advice on site compliance.
• Inspect potential illegal discharges.
• Review performance bonds and maintenance contracts; release bonds when projects close.
• Process land disturbance permit applications.
