Job summary

Jobtailor in Pasadena, California is seeking a Civil Engineer (0-3 years) to perform study and design work for regional stormwater capture and green infrastructure projects, using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to produce construction documents.

You will work on grading, hydraulics, hydrology, site layout, soil erosion control, and report writing, with opportunities to present to clients and collaborate with team consultants, reporting to the shared workspace four days per week in Pasadena.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.
• 0–3 years of experience; no prior work experience required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Experience in report writing and presentation development.
• General knowledge of graphic design tools.
• Knowledge of water resources engineering, specifically hydrology and hydraulics.
• E.I.T. preferred.
• CAD proficiency is a plus.
• Civil 3D experience preferred.
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics and survey basics preferred.
• ArcGIS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Stormwater BMP basics and/or LID preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform study and design work for regional stormwater capture, stormwater harvesting, and green infrastructure projects.
• Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create civil construction documents for publicly funded stormwater capture projects.
• Work on grading, hydraulics, hydrology, site layout, soil erosion and sediment control, and utility designs.
• Support conceptual design of stormwater capture facilities through drawings, maps, geospatial analysis, hydraulic analysis, and technical writing.
• Provide design coordination and follow-up to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Present project efforts and goals to clients and the public.
• Interact with clients and team consultants.
• Report to the shared workspace four times per week in Pasadena, California.
• Report to the shared workspace four times per week in Pasadena, CA; in-person time supports project collaboration, meetings, professional development, and culture.
