Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking a Project Environmental Engineer / Scientist focused on industrial stormwater in Portland, OR.

The role covers complex consulting, regulatory compliance, and support for multiple clients across industrial, municipal, and construction sectors. The position emphasizes stormwater permitting and SWPPP development, field inspections, and on-site audits, with opportunities to mentor staff and manage small teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of multi‑media environmental compliance experience, including audits, permitting support, and developing regulatory plans (SWPPPs, SPCC, SOPs).
• Experience in stormwater and wastewater compliance and on-site client support.
• Strong writing, communication, and technical documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver stormwater program development and implementation for industrial, municipal, and construction clients.
• Manage hazardous waste and materials handling within compliance scope.
• Oversee wastewater compliance and development of regulatory reporting documents.
• Conduct on-site inspections and audits; support field and office work as needed.
• Review regulations, permits and guidance to ensure accurate regulatory application across projects.
• Coordinate tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
