Job summary

City of Suffolk is seeking a Civil Engineer at I–III levels to review civil construction plans for compliance with City, State and Federal codes. The role involves project management of capital improvement projects, coordination with utilities, and oversight of bid documents and contract execution.

The engineer will handle drainage, stormwater, erosion control and traffic planning, while supporting homeowner and developer inquiries and maintaining up-to-date engineering standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or closely related field.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and codes for City/state/federal levels.
• Ability to review and interpret construction documents, site plans and plats.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial and subdivision construction plans for compliance.
• Perform project management for capital improvement projects.
