Job summary

Keish Environmental is seeking a Stormwater Inspector (QSD Preferred) to lead compliance on construction, municipal, and wildfire recovery projects in Southern California, starting Spring/Summer 2027. This is a full-time, field-based role with daily travel to project sites or offices.

Applicants should hold a QSD (QSP acceptable) with 5–10 years in environmental engineering/science or construction management, plus in-depth NPDES/SWPPP knowledge and the ability to work with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • QSD certification (strongly preferred; QSP acceptable) and relevant experience.
  • Experience with California Stormwater permits and on-site work in Southern California.
  • 5–10 years in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Construction Management.
  • Deep knowledge of NPDES permits, erosion control, and SWPPP development.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings.
  • Willingness for daily travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Apply QSD expertise to ensure stormwater compliance across construction, municipal, and wildfire restoration projects.
  • Conduct field inspections and implement stormwater BMPs per NPDES permits, SWPPPs, and MS4 programs.
  • Develop and refine SWPPP plans for projects in sensitive areas, including post-wildfire contexts.
  • Guide project teams on regulatory compliance, proactively identifying risks and corrective actions.
  • Prepare expert inspection reports and communicate findings with clients, contractors, and regulators.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies (RWQCB, CA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Corps of Engineers, NOAA Fisheries) to maintain high standards.

Do you have experience navigating post-wildfire restoration efforts, ensuring stormwater compliance in sensitive, high-risk areas? Keish Environmental is seeking an experienced Stormwater Inspector to lead compliance efforts on construction, municipal, and wildfire recovery projects in the Los Angeles area for jobs starting in the Spring/Summer 2027.

Your Role: Bringing QSD Expertise to the Field

As a Stormwater Inspector, you will:

  • Apply QSD-level expertise to ensure stormwater compliance across construction, municipal, and wildfire restoration projects.
  • Conduct field inspections and implement stormwater BMPs per NPDES permits, SWPPPs, and MS4 stormwater programs.
  • Develop and refine SWPPP plans for projects in environmentally sensitive and post-wildfire areas.

This is a full‑time, field‑based position requiring daily travel to project sites or offices.

What You Bring: QSD-Certified Excellence
  • QSD certification strongly preferred (QSP required). Experience with MS4 stormwater programs and post-wildfire restoration is a major plus!
  • Familiarity with California Stormwater permits and regulation and ability to work on site in Southern California up to 5 days a week.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Construction Management.
  • Deep understanding of stormwater regulations, NPDES permits, and erosion control strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor SWPPP plans for complex, environmentally sensitive projects.
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, with experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
