Job summary

OxyChem is seeking an experienced Stores Expeditor to be based at the Taft Chemical facility in Hahnville, Louisiana. The role involves processing requisitions, placing orders for rush items, expediting stores orders, and resolving receiving/invoice issues with accounting and vendors.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, SAP proficiency, forklift operation ability, and strong Microsoft Office skills, along with excellent communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Detailed knowledge of using SAP to manage the stores’ requisitions and material requirements expediting process.
  • Ability to be qualified on operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Must be able to respond to off hour emergencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required.

Responsibilities

  • Process stores requisitions.
  • Place orders for rush stores items.
  • Expedite stores orders.
  • Resolve store room problems.
  • Resolve receiving/invoice problems with accounting.
  • Resolve receiving/invoice problems with vendor.
  • Maintain stores capital/AFE system.
  • Maintain stores obsolescence system (SMART Program).
  • Process stores credits.
  • Adjust min/max levels to maintain correct inventory levels.
  • Establish and distribute Stores Issue Report.
  • Back‑up maintenance assistant for new contractors into Bizagi.
  • Provide back‑up support for the maintenance assistant as Headcount Assembly Leader.
  • Tracking of the plant’s critical spares.
  • Description changes of stores stock items.
  • Initiate cyclic inventory and investigate discrepancies.
  • Tracking of the plant’s capital and repairable stock items.
  • Establish new items in stores.
  • Assist in training Stores Contract employees.
  • Maintain Stores Log Sheets.
  • Troubleshoot barcode technology handheld issues
  • Reconcile consignment inventory with vendors
  • Participates and accepts responsibility for meeting plant and individual PSM goals and monthly spreadsheet responsibilities as required by HESP-610 Procedure.
  • Actively participates in plant’s Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) programs to assure a safe and environmentally sound workplace.
  • Assumes accountability for meeting plant safety goals and various other requirements including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, reporting hazards and issues, and working safely in job assignments.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings and various other HESS programs while promoting safety through offering recommendations to other employees on working safely.
  • Supports and fulfills the requirements of the plant’s ISO Quality and food safety program/policy.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities assigned by Plant Management.
