Job summary

Pipeline Health is seeking a Storekeeper to support the Director of Materials Management in processing and distributing supplies across the hospital. The role includes shipping/receiving, maintaining stock, and ensuring accurate deliveries through the Materials Management system.

Applicants should have 1–3 months of related experience, be able to lift over 50 lbs, and communicate clearly with internal and external customers while upholding HIPAA guidelines and safety standards.

Description

Job Summary: The Storekeeper works under the supervision of the Director of Materials Management, participates in all phases of processing of materials. Responsible for the distribution and replenishment or required supplies to the various departments throughout the hospital. Issues and receives daily parcels and supplies in the Materials Management automated computer system. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Essential Functions:

• Required to lift, push and/or pull weight more than 50lbs.
• Demonstrates the ability to transport supplies and goods to the appropriate departments.
• Demonstrates the ability to verify quality and quantity of deliveries shipped to the hospital by contracted vendors.
• Responsible for shipping and receiving of all parcels
• Works with the hospital buyer in assuring the adequate stock levels are maintained.
• Receives and issues supplies by utilizing the Materials Management inventory computer system.
• Completes assigned duties in an organized and timely manner.
• Uses clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers, all customers internal and external.
• Acts with a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
• Basic unit/department maintenance such as keeping files, drawers, cabinets free from unnecessary clutter.
• Reports on any equipment and or environmental issues for repair.
• Abides by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
• Speaks up to stop the line and escalates potential safety events if necessary.
• Completes and attends monthly training assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
• A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.
