Huck’s Market is seeking a Truck Stop Maintenance Associate to keep fueling islands, restrooms, parking areas, and common facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for customers.

You will perform routine maintenance on pumps and equipment, conduct safety checks, assist customers with basic inquiries, and report issues to management, while promoting Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app.

This on-site role requires physical work outdoors in varying weather and offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on facilities including fueling stations, restrooms, and common areas.
• Inspect and maintain equipment such as fuel pumps, lighting fixtures, HVAC, laundry, shower and restroom equipment.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, shower areas, and other customer-accessible facilities; manage trash and supplies.
• Pressure wash fuel islands, sidewalks, and parking areas as needed.
• Monitor exterior grounds, landscaping, and snow removal; ensure parking areas are hazard-free.
• Assist customers with basic inquiries and notify management of issues affecting customer experience.
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Job Title: Truck Stop Maintenance Associate

Job Purpose

The Huck’s Market Truck Stop Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all areas of the truck stop, including fuel islands, restrooms, shower facilities, parking areas, and common facilities. This role is vital in providing a welcoming environment for customers and maintaining Huck’s high standards of service.

General Maintenance

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on truck stop facilities, including fueling stations, restrooms, and common areas.
• Inspect and maintain equipment such as fuel pumps, air machines, lighting fixtures, HVAC (general maintenance & filters), laundry, shower and restroom equipment.

Cleaning Duties

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, shower areas, and other customer-accessible facilities.
• Empty trash bins, restock supplies, and ensure cleanliness in all areas, including parking lots and fuel islands.
• Clean all windows on the property.
• Pressure wash fuel islands, sidewalks, and parking areas as needed.

Groundskeeping

• Monitor the exterior areas of the truck stop, including landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup.
• Ensure parking areas are free of hazards and appropriately marked.

Customer Service

• Assist customers with basic inquiries related to maintenance or facilities.
• Notify management of any major issues affecting customer experience.

Safety And Compliance

• Conduct regular safety checks to ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the store manager promptly.
• Ensures that ladders are properly used
• Ensures that lifting procedures are followed per company policy
• Ensures that wet floor signs are used, per company policy

Other Duties As Assigned

• Support the Huck’s Market team with additional responsibilities as needed to maintain operations.
• Shadow and communicate with repair/ service personnel contracted for property.
• Communicate with management repairs needed or completed to the property.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Prior maintenance, custodial, or similar experience preferred.

Skills

• Basic mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Excellent time management skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for long periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

• This position operates primarily in a fast-paced outdoor and indoor environment, often near fuel pumps and heavy vehicle traffic and in public restrooms and showers. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required

• Actively promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers
• Communicate to customers the benefits of signing up and using the app
• Monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts
• Assist customers on how to sign up and use the app for discounts and redemption
