Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking a frontline Cashier/Front End Team Member who delivers fast, friendly service, processes transactions, and helps customers with loyalty programs in a dynamic retail setting. This role may also function as a sales associate or merchandiser as needed, with required training on wine, beer, and spirits to enhance product knowledge.

The position supports a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and emphasizes safety, legal compliance, and accurate cash

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–3 years of work experience; 1+ years in retail preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification, payment handling, answering inquiries, promoting loyalty program, and bagging product.
  • Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
  • Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
  • Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
  • Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

About the role As a Cashier, you play an essential role in the customer service experience by providing customers with fast and friendly service. You will process transactions, answer questions, and ensure customers leave feeling positive about their visit. While both part-time and full-time positions generally focus on being a cashier, you may also be assigned as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. Internally, you will be referred to Front End Team Member and report to the store management team. You will Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification, payment handling, answering inquiries, promoting loyalty program, and bagging product Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned

If this job posting is coded as a seasonal role above, you can expect this position to be short term, no longer than six months, and you will have the option to apply for a non-seasonal role.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Passion for best-in-class customer service and team player mindset
  • 1-3 years of work experience, 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends
Physical requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
  • Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets
  • Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
  • May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday

Compensation & Working Conditions

Worker Type: Regular

Pay Range: $15.37 - $21.52 Hourly

Compensation may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills and/or experience. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
