Job summary

Wegmans is seeking an independent security specialist to support the Asset Protection team in reducing shrink and enhancing safety across store operations in New York. You will collaborate with management to implement strategies, analyze data, and build relationships with community partners to increase safety awareness.

Our security specialists play a critical role helping to communicate between the Asset Protection team and the store leadership group. We’re seeking an independent individual who is task-oriented and can build strong relationships throughout the store while keeping customer service top of mind!

What You'll Do

Requirements

• 2 or more years of related work experience
• Proven ability to effectively resolve problems and manage conflict
• Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect the safety and well-being of others
• Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment
• Technical aptitude, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related degree
• Military, security, loss prevention or asset protection experience
• Experience as a first responder and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
• Leadership experience
