Connected International, Inc. (Connected Cannabis Co.) is a leading vertically integrated cannabis company based in Sacramento and operating in California, Arizona, and Florida. With over 11 years experience, Connected specializes in breeding, growing, manufacturing, and distributing top‑shelf cannabis through its state‑of‑the‑art facilities and proprietary genetics.

With over 250 employees across the United States, Connected maintains a strong presence in the industry across multiple markets. The company has recently expanded into Arizona and Florida with ambitious national expansion plans underway. Connected's mission has always been to breed, grow, and sell the best cannabis in the world, setting high standards for its products, people, and partners wherever we go.

About the Job

The Store Sales Manager is the heartbeat of our revenue strategy, tasked with the ultimate retail challenge: driving aggressive sales growth within the tight boundaries of cannabis regulation. There is no leading from the back—you are an on‑the‑floor coach and data‑driven strategist who thrives on the 'real‑time' win. You will spend your days transforming every Budtender interaction into a transformational customer experience. Your goal is to consistently exceed sales targets while strictly adhering to all regulatory and compliance guidelines.

What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and shift management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and well merchandised store environment, ensuring product is neatly placed with correct signage.
  • Manage employee rest periods and meal breaks according to CA Labor laws.
  • Assign tasks and register assignments on the Daily Schedule.
  • Drive store revenue by setting clear hourly goals for the day and holding the team accountable to performance expectations.
  • Execute company direction on promotional strategies daily to drive traffic and revenue results.
  • Train and develop staff through ongoing coaching, empowerment and performance feedback.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement goals and improvement plans when necessary, under the guidance of the General Manager.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and results driven culture that promotes team engagement and supports retention.
  • Lead by example on the salesfloor, actively engaging with customers and supporting the team.
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional customer experiences aligned with brand standards.
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalations professionally and in a timely manner, turning issues into loyalty opportunities.
  • Ensure all employees are adhering to company policies and procedures in accordance with the Company Handbook.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of daily performance metrics—including AOV, SPH, and new customer acquisition—transforming raw data into aggressive floor strategies that drive revenue.
  • Spend the majority of shifts on the sales floor, evolving the team from "order takers" to brand experts through real‑time feedback and high‑touch performance coaching.
  • Identify high‑caliber talent and foster a "growth mindset" by creating learning pathways, such as product training programs and specialized workshops.
  • Enforce a rigorous "Zero‑Error" environment, ensuring 100% accuracy in ID checks, state‑mandated METRC tracking, and all regulatory procedures.
  • Maintain 100% menu accuracy while strategically highlighting high‑margin products and "slow‑movers" to optimize inventory turnover.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive culture by upholding premium dress code standards and promptly resolving team safety or performance concerns.
  • Drive a best‑in‑class customer experience that prioritizes personalized product education, ensuring every guest has a reason to return.
  • Foster a results‑driven environment by celebrating top‑tier sales wins while decisively addressing underperformance to maintain elite team standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Average Order Value: Increasing the average dollar amount per transaction through strategic upselling.
  • New Customer Acquisition: Driving the experience to increase more first time buyers.
  • Audit Accuracy: Ensuring 100% compliance during internal and state‑level inventory audits.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Upholds compliance and regulatory requirements at all times; maintains the reputation of the store.
  • Ensures product inventory is entered correctly and organized for proper purchasing.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Manager is aware of employee performance and interaction with patients.
  • Assigns workers to specific projects such as cleaning or restocking.
  • Notify staff of new procedures, policies and regulation updates/changes.
  • Create/oversee staff schedules, finding coverage if needed for sick time or personal time off.
  • Educate and train staff on all current and new products.
  • Demonstrate ability to speak at a high level about the business.

  • 1‑2 years leadership experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, food service, or a related field.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours including mornings, nights, and weekends.
  • Proven Sales Background: 2+ years of retail management experience with a documented history of hitting or exceeding sales targets.

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
